Reading through that list, I got to wondering why they were all in the Northern Hemisphere.
I did a quick google search and found that Tasmania has dolerite columns that are formed the same way.

After that I got curious and wondered what the difference was between dolerite and basalt. Apparently they are essentially the same thing. Dolerite is subvolcanic while basalt is volcanic and dolerite has larger crystals than basalt.
