I went blind for a day to try Microsoft's headset for the visually impaired
Microsoft is developing technology that allows blind pedestrians to know where they are using headphones and GPS. James Titcomb tests out the project's latest phase. It’s a cold, wet Tuesday morning in the middle of Reading town centre, and my world has gone pitch black. Somebody grabs my arm, to demonstrate how the walking stick I’m holding for the first time works, and I’m ordered to make it to the local shopping centre.

While I hate Microsoft's OS and don't use it, I really like this idea and applaud them for doing this.
