Ninite is a site where you can browse the best free and open source PC applications, select those you want and download a single custom installer which will install them all silently. It's always up-to-date and will not install any adware or toolbars (even if these are packaged optionally with the app's own installer). I've loved it for years and even use it for hassle-free single application installs.
