4chan founder moot quits, but who's the man behind the memes?
Christopher Poole, who founded the lively and often controversial forum 4chan, retired from the website aged 26. Poole founded the message board in 2003 while he was still in high school, and in his farewell message, he said he had faced "numerous challenges over the years". Poole, who posted on the website under the alias "moot", can be held responsible for the popularisation of memes such as Rick rolling and lolcats.
