Demon core - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
The demon core was a 6.2-kilogram (14 lb; 1 st), 3.5-inch-diameter (89 mm) subcritical mass of plutonium which went briefly critical in two separate accidents at the Los Alamos laboratory in 1945 and 1946. Each incident resulted in the acute radiation poisoning and subsequent death of a scientist. After these incidents the spherical plutonium pit was referred to as the "demon core."

Graphene aerogel is seven times lighter than air, can balance on a blade of grass - Slideshow | ExtremeTech
Chinese material scientists have created the world's lightest material: A graphene aerogel that is seven times lighter than air, and 12% lighter than the previous record holder (aerographite). The graphene aerogel is so light that an cube inch of the stuff can be balanced on a blade of grass, the stamen of a flo...

I skimmed and enjoyed them, and then returned them. Stone & Zender took a place on my bookshelf and I moved on to other things...

This Map Shows The Most Popular TV Show Set In Every State
We've already found the most famous book in every state. But what about your favorite shows? Earlier this year, we ran a map from Reddit user SomeGuyFromCanada listing the most significant shows set in every state. We weren’t happy with all of the selections (no “Breaking Bad” or “Happy Days”?) so we hit the books to discover the shows representative of our nation.
