"Je Suis Charlie": 'The Simpsons' Stands With Charlie Hebdo
George Clooney and the Golden Globes glitterati weren’t the only ones making a public stand in the name of freedom of expression Sunday night. Fox’s episode of The Simpsons titled “Bart’s Best Friend,” penned by Judd Apatow 24 years ago as a spec – in which Homer is hypnotized into believing he’s a young boy again – closed with this visual tribute to the slain cartoonists of Parisian newspaper Charlie Hebdo.
