Decriminalizing is different then legalizing. I think the Portuguese model should be looked at closely.
I'm all for full legalization, but this is a step too far.

Please note that the article states this is for decriminalization, not legalization. That means people would be ticketed rather than getting prison sentences and criminal records for possession.
Moreover, this is being brought up at a Liberal Party national convention for discussion; it has not been adopted yet.
