Trump team ignores White House petitions after talk of pulling the plug
Millions of people have signed petitions hosted on the White House website since President Trump took office, but not one has received a promised response as the service’s future remains uncertain. By all appearances, the “We the People” petition platform — a reliable springboard onto daytime TV during the Obama administration — is a low priority and awaiting an inevitable death after nine months of dormancy.

As if the petitions at the White House petitions site ever got more than an asinine response. If they even got a response at all. The site was a running joke almost from the start. At first they were supposed to respond to any petition with over 25K signatures. Then it was 100K. Still, the best anyone could hope for was to be ignored. People demanding a pardon for Ed Snowden turned in over a million signatures. That didn't ever rate a feeble sigh from the Obama White House. Petitions are simply a way for people to report themselves as subversives to the state.
