The PC was supposed to die a decade ago. Instead, this happened
Back on January 27, 2010, a very Big Thinker declared the PC dead. A decade later, the PC is very much alive, although a time traveler from 2010 might not recognize it. Here's how this endangered species evolved and survived.

And artists who use the Gimp,etc. One of those is me. I like my big,clunky Linux box and will continue using it. Add to that,just cause some big shot or other says bla bla will happen does not mean it will.
As a small biz owner I would be lost without my PC, granted mine is now portable, but my staff all use desktops and love that they have all the resources at their fingertips to do what they need to do. Clearly, some of that is software, not hardware driven, but I don't see the PC going away anytime soon.
