They said it to the Jews, they said it to the Irish, they said it to the Italians, the Poles, the Mexicans, the Africans...virtually every ethnic / national demographic that has ever come here from afar. It was wrong then, and its wrong now.
By the way, lets not forget Roosevelt's internment of 120,000 Japanese Americans (he called them Japs), didn't do anything for the Jews in Germany, opposed anti-lynching laws and publicly expressed he felt whites were intellectually superior to blacks....and a whole lot of Americans loved him to death.
