"National Mentor, the company that put the baby girl there in that home, had never taught the foster parents about safe sleeping practices for babies." Really? And this wasn't even required by the state?

I'm sorry but is there anything that isn't for-profit in the US? For-profit prisons are bad enough, but foster care? That is just.... I'm honestly speechless. Can anyone give me one reason as to why this is acceptable?
I tried to read the story but nope, that is just appalling.
Disclaimer: This is not anti-american, this is about being against for-profit systems where the lives of people, especially children, are put at risk all for the sake of revenue. I'm not sure if that needed to be stated, I hope not.
