I know it's linked in the article, but I added her write-up in Medium in the Related Links, just for easier access.
I replied while you did but thanks for the latest link it is nice to hear it in her own words.
No problem! Figured it would be a bit easier to find since it's kinda hidden in the NPR article due to all those Twitter modules.
And yea, it really is a great write-up, and it really hasn't come at a more perfect time as more and more discuss women in the tech industry.
I agree anytime we can have a discussion about women in tech while fewer they are not some alien creatures but as she says normal HUMAN beings.
The only thing I find odd is that she goes by two different names? Is she Isis Wenger or Isis Anchalaee?
Some women go by both married and maiden name, but never list them as joined except when legally necessary.
I've never seen that before, but I'll take your word for it.
I've known 2 in 30 years. It is only a possible explanation. Another is that she attempted to use a different name for modeling the photograph then used her given name later. Similar to a writer, a friend of mines sister models under an easily pronounced name as opposed to the one she was born to.
that's a good reason I hadn't thought of. She looks like, even though she says she doesn't like attention, she could have modeled before. So even though this was an 'impromptu' ad campaign she already had a stage name for modeling.
Yeah, if you're going to change your name, wouldn't you change the one that's associated with a terrorist group?
