You wouldn't happen to know if this is one of the types of edible lotus would you?

Actually, it looks like the genus Nymphaea is not edible (it includes waterlilies and blue lotuses). The edible lotuses belong to the Nelumbo genus, which include Nelumbo nucifera, the sacred lotus of Buddhism and Hinduism. For the record, I did not know this offhand, just looked it up on Google.

Though of course, I'm sure if you wanted to you could eat it :)
