Report: Japan is hunting its whales and dolphins to extinction
An "archaic" tradition has killed over a million small cetaceans in the past 70 years.

As to whales, Japan is signatory to the International Whaling Commission and it's limits. The IWC's purpose is to maintain and or increase whale populations, dependent on population estimates. The IWC sets limits on catches for each species. Japan in recent years had numbers far below even those set by the IWC.....As to dolphins and porpoises the numbers are not close to endangered by anyone's count, except perhaps by this EIA group.
