How Berlin’s Futuristic Airport Became a $6 Billion Embarrassment
The inspectors could hardly believe what they were seeing. Summoned from their headquarters near Munich, the team of logistics, safety, and aviation experts had arrived at newly constructed Berlin Brandenburg International Willy Brandt Airport in the fall of 2011 to begin a lengthy series of checks and approvals for the €600 million ($656 million) terminal...

Unrelated, but dear god, did a highlighter throw up on this website? It burns!
Won't even check the rest out, it's really messing with my eyes :/
Its worth the read, but those colors make it tough.

Yeah, that's been a pretty big scandal for the last few years. Especially considering that there already was (or is) a very similar project, the Elbphilharmonie in Hamburg that suffered from exploding costs too. They mention it in the article. I added a link with that and some more fuck-ups. It's really emberassing to be honest...
Thanks for the link. It was a fun read.
Whenever you land at Schönefeld, you see the airport at the other side of the runway. It looks so modern and fancy and then the plane parks at Schönefeld, the airport of East-Berlin :-D
