This is a point I've tried to make when my feminist friends bring up the "Women make 72 cents on the dollar to men for the same work" or similar arguments, but it hasn't registered. I want to figure out if the reason that there are fewer women in higher paying positions is sexism or not, but I don't think the pay gap is an issue that should be brought up as often as it is.
