Tesla is working on a ‘dog mode’ to keep your puppies safe and cool inside their vehicles
After a suggestion from a Model 3 owner on Twitter, Tesla CEO Elon Musk agreed that the automaker should release a ‘dog mode’ to keep your puppies safe and cool inside Tesla vehicles. Tesla has already made updates to its software to help with child or pet safety with its Cabin Overheat Protection feature released in 2016.

If a random person sees a dog alone in a car that's off/parked and windows rolled up on a hot day, they will smash the window anyhow. I know I would unless there was a sign or notice or something.
It can be hard to tell whether a Tesla is on with the air conditioning running. Also, people will sometimes think a dog is confined in a small area in a Tesla when, thanks to it’s open Lotus design, they can easily get around in there. One shouldn’t leave dogs in a car, of course, but yes, there ought to be a way to signify to passers-by that life support systems are running. Hopefully before they grab a nearby rock.
