This was supposed to be the decade of tougher consumer protections. That didn't happen
To sum up the past decade, you could call it a tale of two presidents. For evidence of that, look no further than the Dodd-Frank Wall Street Reform and Consumer Protection Act. The financial overhaul legislation was signed into law by then-President Barack Obama on July 21, 2010.

Legislation was enacted in 2010 yet very little has transpired since then (just what we all need, another unnecessary government watchdog). Now that the current administration has appealed some of it, and the first enforceable option from the original legislation is on tap for a June 2020 action date, there is an issue and this starts getting publicity again. The political abyss keeps growing.
