#HappyToBleed: Women protest against temple scanner to detect menstruating women
An Indian college student has launched an online campaign against the taboo surrounding menstruation, after the president of the board that manages the Sabarimala temple said women would only be allowed to enter after the invention of a machine to detect whether they are on their period. Many Hindu temples in India make it clear that women who are on their period are not welcome inside, as the religion considers menstruating women to be unclean.
