End of an Era: Microsoft Word Now Flagging Two Spaces After Period as an Error
Adding two spaces after a period is something that so many people seem to do, despite others obviously going for what they believe to be the correct choice and using just one space. While the two-space rule actually made sense in the era of typewriters, it does’t anymore, so switching to a one-space approach is something that everyone should do.

No they haven't. Yet another reason, as if I needed one, to not use Microsoft word.

I never have used Microsoft Word.
WordPerfect? LibreOffice?
I've used almost all word processing programs. For serious work, ie books, LibreOffice is supreme. It has a wide range of features, even more with extensions and is stable, and stable over the various updates.
I've used LibreOffice for years.
I'm a 1 space advocate. See. ;-)
