If I am wrong, please somebody correct me, but I have the impression that a lot of americans don't care about this thing. There seems to be an acceptance of the lose of privacy on social networks, and that you should be careful what you share online, which now also seems to include who you befriend online. It's like vote against your interests 2.0, because I am potentially a successful (rich) person.
