To Whom the Bells Toll
Why do secular democracies still allow church bells to be a pain in the ass, invading and disturbing people's private lives? Which part of the lesson on religion-state separation they didn’t get?

I don't mind the ones that are actual bells, they have a limited range compared to the amplified church bell mp3 a lot of places now use, at least that's what I believe based on a church near us that switched from real ones to sound files. But in all honesty, if they ring them after 8AM you can't really complain anymore than I can about the fricking yard people that show up at 8AM while I'm still sleeping as I don't start my day until around noon. If the bells are ringing more than two to three times on Sunday though, fair game for complaint. They should only ring at the early morning and afternoon/evening services.
They pay their taxes like everyone else... Wait a minute!
