Women tend to develop more anxiety and depression after a heart attack compared to men.
According to research presented at Acute Cardiovascular Care 2014 by Professor Pranas Serpytis from Lithuania women are likely to be more prone to anxiety and depression after having a a heart attack (myocardial infarction; MI) . Compared to men this value is a bit high. Acute Cardiovascular Care is the annual meeting of the Acute Cardiovascular Care Association (ACCA) of the European Society of Cardiology (ESC) .
