US opens new special probe into fatal Tesla crash
The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration said Tuesday it is opening a new special crash investigation into a fatal accident in California involving a 2018 Tesla Model 3 where advanced driver assistance systems are suspected of having been used.

The self-driving feature is NOT self-driving! if you need a human behind the wheel to monitor the car's autopilot, it's safer just to have the human drive. There is literally no advantage to have a self driving car (as far as Tesla's current tech is concerned) since it means the human's attention is likely to wander, putting themselves and everyone else in danger. In fact, I'm wondering if it just makes driving MORE dangerous. I prefer to avoid being near Teslas on the road for exactly this reason.
