Matthew McConaughey says he’s seriously considering run for governor in Texas
Matthew McConaughey says he is seriously considering a gubernatorial run in Texas. The Oscar winner said on a Houston-based podcast that he was weighing up running for the job in his home state, where Republican Greg Abbott is up for re-election in 2022. McConaughey, 51, has previously publicly flirted with the idea of trying to win the governor’s office and refused to rule out entering politics.
