Putin ignores claims 10,000 Russian soldiers are dead with 40-mile convoy stuck in mud as fighting in Ukraine intensifies

Moscow has been condemned after announcing the opening of humanitarian corridors which would take Ukrainian civilians fleeing the invasion towards Russia or its ally Belarus. The limited ceasefire announcement came a day after hundreds of thousands of Ukrainian civilians attempting to flee to safety were forced to shelter from Russian shelling of cities in the centre, north and south of the country.
