    French 75

    Makes 1 cocktail

    1/4 ounce simple syrup

    1/4 ounce fresh lemon juice

    1-1/4 ounce "good" Cognac

    Champagne

    Lemon peel

    Combine simple syrup, lemon juice and Cognac in a mixing glass. Shake with ice. Strain into a chilled champagne flute. Top with champagne and garnish with a lemon twist.
