I find her stance on this very interesting. On first glance I imagined the hypothetical arguments that it shouldn't matter whether the director is male or female: only their skills should be considered in their ability to portray the story. But in an entirely different industry I've seen the teeny little biases that add up and can make it so hard for a woman to even get the chance to sell her skills, let alone get hired. Natalie Portman has earned a lot of credibility and power within the industry, and now she's using that to hold out for a talented director who's also a woman. I think it's actions like this that'll make the playing field more level in Hollywood - and other industries.

Oof Click-bait title. She wants the director of the movie to be a biopic.
