I used to love playing Rodent's Revenge long ago (Windows 3.1 days).

Yeah then 3D Pinball: Space Cadet came along and ruined everything! Ugh!

... okay Space Cadet was really fun too.

    Thank you so much!

I absolutely adore this game and up until this point I've actually ran the original game in a virtual machine just so I'd be able to play it. But having something that is possible to run without a virtual machine is pretty darn awesome.

No problem! I'm always on the hunt for old awesome things! Keep an eye on /t/Windows for more old legacy Windows crap that only we think has any value :D Lots more soon.

PS: ugggghhhhhhhhhhh! Virtual box. There's always a better way.

Actually, when I first started craving Rodent's Revenge again I went as far as to use Microsoft's own Windows XP mode even though that's far far worse than Vmware or Virtualbox :p

This game, Chip's Challenge, and Ski Free. Oh man, the nostalgia...

I don't think I've ever played Chip's Challenge, looking up now!

Looks like it's available on steam. I know one of the developer's released a new game called Chuck's Challenge recently, which is kind of a modern update. Chip's is a pretty basic puzzle solver, gather keys to unlock matching doors, push blocks to beat puzzles, and collect items to handle environmental hazards. 8 year old me was slightly obsessed with this game :)

I vaguely recall after a few visual ques. I'll have to play it again. Thanks for the steam link, I'm going to grab it from there.

I clicked, and as soon as I got to the site, I had a huge wave of nostalgia come over me. Completely locked this away in the ol' memory bank. I would have never thought about this game had I not just seen the link. Thanks for that.

That was the point! Glad there are other people who lovingly remember old useless crap like I do. <3 Have fun! :)

This game used to make me so uncomfortably upset when I was a child because of the cats "melting" or whatever when they died. It's funny how the simplest things can upset a child.

That upset me as well, but not more than being eaten by the cat, so fortunate for my little mouse I got pretty good at the game.

The mouse thing also upset me. It was pretty much a lose-lose situation since I was scared of the cats but I got so upset to kill them. My solution was just not to play the game.

Hahaha yes, the only way to win is not to play. ;) For everyone who hates cat killing, I also posted the Windows 95 classic "SkiFree" over at /t/Windows!

This is the greatest game of all time. What a blast from the past! I never thought I'd see this again. What nostalgia!
