Motorcyclist dies after striking bear, hit by another car on Hwy 26
Oregon State Police and other emergency personnel responded to a multi-vehicle accident on Saturday night that killed one person and was reportedly caused by a bear. The crash took place near milepost 80 on Hwy 26 in Warm Springs. Preliminary investigations reveal that a motorcycle that was being ridden by Rhett Larsen, 39, was traveling east when a large bear ran into his path. Unable to avoid it, he struck the bear, killing the animal.
