Meta fined more than $400 million over ad targeting practices
Irish regulators on Wednesday hit Facebook parent Meta with hundreds of millions in fines for online privacy violations and banned the company from forcing European users to agree to personalized ads based on their online activity. Nothing new here. Social media,in reality was created for the sole purpose of shoving ads on everyone and all the nastiness that comes with ads. And the "fine" is the slap of a feather landing on a wrist and just the cost of doing business.
