How technology could kill the art of lying
Lies are a fact of life. But technology may soon make them obsolete. "Almost everybody lies now and then," said Tim Levine, chair of the Communications Studies Department at the University of Alabama at Birmingham. "Most people are pretty good at it, in that you can't tell when they are lying just by watching and listening to them."

I'm not sure this will kill so much as change the 'art' of lying.
Definitely. It makes lying intentional which must be (however briefly) planned out. Alternatively, with all sorts of device tracking and information available, it makes it easier to prove you aren't lying. The example of the woman with the fitbit is why lying needs to be more deliberate. If she wanted to file the false report, she could have simply taken her fitbit off and shown it as "sleeping" for a few hours. The evidence would back her story up rather than hurt it. Of course if she was telling the truth and the fitbit was on the whole time, the motion tracking should line up with the story (more or less), going from calm to active during the time of the attack.
I must say, as an owner of a Fit bit, it isn't always accurate. I've nodded off for a half hour and it doesn't register as sleep.
Nah, we'll just learn to lie better.
This could also be an explanation of why we're currently in such an extreme call-out culture.
Well as long as Black Widow can lie I say we are good.
