Twisted Sister - We're Not Gonna Take It

The band that gave us one of the most famous questions in rock history...

  • "What Do You Wanna Do With Your Life?!?"

Apart from being frontman for one of the most popular bands of the '80s, Dee Snider also famously testified in front of Congress in 1985. The Parents Music Resource Center (PMRC), a group co-founded by Tipper Gore, was an activist group that tried to censor music in the '80s. When Congress decided to hold hearings on the issue, Frank Zappa, Dee Snider, and "Mr. Sunshine-on-my-god-damn-shoulders", John Denver all showed up to testify against censorship, and the blatant attack on the 1st Amendment.

  • Dee Snider's Congressional Testimony. Not only a great lesson in Rock History, but some suspect an early example of trolling.

  • Danzig - "Mother". A song written about the PMRC and Tipper Gore.
