I'm a recent graduate with a BS in CS, is this something worth getting? How useful is the certification?

It's not a bad certification. It's considerably more indicative of somebodies ability to admin Linux servers than the LPIC-1, and the exam and study materials are certainly more up to date.

So let me get this straight. If I were a new member, I could pay the $99 annual membership fee, and $49 for the exam registration, for a grand total of $148

But as a renewing member of multiple years, I get the privilege of paying $300 for the same exam?

    What a deal.
