Splatoon is now the highest-selling game on the Japanese eShop
Dragon Quest X has long been the most popular game on the Japanese Wii U eShop. However, that honor has since gone to Splatoon, which is now the top-selling title on the store. We don’t have concrete numbers for digital sales, but it’s estimated that they’re higher than 57,000 units. Source, Via Related

Makes since, since it was sold out physically everywhere.
Plus this feels like a perfect digital game, like Smash or Mario Kart, since it'd be a pain having to constantly swap out disks to play these games.
Wow, that's sweet! I think the chances of us getting a sequel are pretty damn high!
(I really hope the sequel puts things like the sponges and inkrails from singleplayer into multiplayer maps)
