Ah the good ole' lets put the Streisand Effect back in the bag strategy. Because now we'll have stories of how google disappeared links about how google disappeared links, and the UK won't want that either. Ad inifinitum.
Honestly, it's just another case of the British government really having no clue how the internet works. Just in case "We're going to ban porn" wasn't a clear enough show of optimistic naivity.
