One feature that I would really like on Steam would be a way to search games based on where they were created. I realize for most AAA games this may not make much sense, as they likely have teams in multiple places, but for indies I think it would be a neat way to find games that will have a new perspective on things.
That would be an interesting category to have. Though as you said, it maybe problematic with medium to large sized companies. Do we then base their country on their HQ's location, or assign them multiple countries?
Yeah, it might be achievable with the tag system that is already in place. Or put in a new descriptor under Developer and Publisher for Country of Origin or something and let the creators self-report.
It's fascinating seeing how developing countries are building their game industries and communities.
