This is a great idea to ask for this to programmed into more and more apps and I hope it gets put on GPS units as well. This is on Sygic and it alerts me something like 400 ft from a crossing, on a trip recently some crossings weren't well marked and it notified me they were coming and save me from hitting them at 50mph on their badly in need of repaving holes and cracks. The downfall of this though is that it also announced crossings that weren't there, where the tracks were on or below a bridge.
