Instagram May be Going High Definition
Images posted and shared on the social network are about to get sharper and clearer. According to The Verge, Instagram is to start displaying photos on the site and within its smartphone and tablet apps in full 1080p high definition. It was a social network that existed purely on mobile, and most smartphones still had pretty poor cameras and very low-res displays.

I didn't realize the files were still using standard definition sizes, it seems odd that cameras would take such high def pics and then only allow uploading of low defs, but then again it was probably made for reasons to save data, server and data plans.
Also, I tried to edit the snap when I realized that I forgot to change the content type to "Current Event" but it's not editable after publishing apparently.
