Walk around Wai-o-tapu thermal wonderland

Wai-o-tapu is a thermal wonderland is only 20mins south (24 km) of Rotorua, New Zealand. I went on a day out with the Rotorua Camera Club and photographed some of the many pools and active boiling mud as well as the bird life . Wai-o-tapu is part of the Taupo Volcanic area zone. The colourful pools have bright colours that go from dark brown to fiery orange-red. the calm flat opal waters reflect the steam and sky. The rainbow colours of the sulfur and volcanic rock make the pools look iridescent in the bright sunlight. This is a relaxing and easy walk around a beautiful thermal wonderland, great for a family day out.
