German news outlet c't Magazin is reporting that Xerox printers are going further than the normal restrictions we've become accustomed to. Not only do you need to refill the ink, but you have to fill it with local ink.

Epson now sells printers with permanent ink tanks that can be filled from small bottles, no chips or DRM involved. And the tanks are HUGE for a domestic printer (100ml IIRC). Yeah, the printers cost a little more upfront, but you don't have to pay the difference with overpriced, DRMed ink.
