Anyone else think it's odd we'd be treated to a non-stop flow of "information" about the difficulties of one little town about the size of Sitka, Alaska nestled, as it is, snugly in the middle of a much, much-wider Armageddon-in-progress? I mean, it's almost as if it's for the same reason every other stale Hollywood storyline goes through the motions this way: to advance the plot. The bad guys in this picture just so happen to be the Syrian government and Hezbollah militia, which is what executive producers like Sen. John McCain want to see, so that's what we'll get. So what if this is a tiny, backwater hamlet in a big picture dominated by forces like Al Qaeda and Daesh, backed to the hilt by the U.S., Turkey, and the Saudi/Qatar coalition? What's going to get appropriations out of the U.S. Congress is pictures where Russians and Iranians are the baddies. So that's what we get. Oh, hey, /u/Mai, are you already enlisted in your country's armed services or are you just about to enlist? Because it's bound to be one or the other, right?
Coming soon to a theater near you. Yes, the ol' gang are at it again, and this time, America's sweethearts are in it to win it.
