Global Reliance On Fossil Fuels Could End Within A Decade
A new study, published in the journal Energy Research & Social Science, suggests that the global reliance on fossil fuels could be phased out within a decade or two. This may seem ludicrously optimistic, but Benjamin Sovacool, a professor of energy policy at the University of Sussex, points to examples of the recent past that show that the next revolution in energy production could happen sooner than we think – but only if we force change through.

I agree with the author of this post. While there have been great strides made in converting to renewable energy sources, for the entire world to be free of fossil fuels a lot of things need to align. I think that some politicians are still stubbornly denying that this change needs to happen and until they realize that the majority of the public wants to invest in this option, not fossil fuels, they will just push the idea around without really making a significant impact.
Hopefully, I'm wrong and the necessary pieces all fall into place sooner rather than later.
