Coward: noun 1. a person who lacks courage in facing danger, difficulty, opposition, pain, etc.; a timid or easily intimidated person. from Dictionary.com. The word “Coward” is a very harsh, wholly pejorative term. In the military, “coward” is the worst appellation one can apply to a person.
