Discussion on Union Views of the Civil War

Panelists talked about the “Union Cause” view of the Civil war, which was the primary view among Northern soldiers and civilians, and its legacy in postwar American politics and culture. “The Union Cause” was a panel discussion at “Causes Won and Lost: The End of the Civil War,” a symposium on the end of the Civil War hosted by the Virginia Sesquicentennial of the American Civil War Commission. The symposium took place on April 18, 2015, at Old Cabell Hall on the campus of the University of Virginia.
