Fix reddit with bitcoin.
For a brief but glorious time, I was the cryptocurrency engineer at reddit. Yes, that was my actual title and it was actually awesome. Although I was publicly hired to work on cryptocurrency, we actually had a secret, higher priority goal: we wanted to decentralize reddit. reddit is a uniquely internet thing. Because identities are pseudonymous, people aren’t afraid to express themselves. Combined with a simple but effective reputation system, this leads to a faster-paced, higher-quality product

Sounds cool, but I honestly don't know if I would use a reddit that required me to pay for it, even if it was fractions of pennies to up vote or post. I like to give what I can when I can in the form of donations which I don't think would work for this model.
Yeah I liked the general decentralization idea, but it would lead to a very very dark place. I've contemplated developing something, but I don't really want to become the person that designs a commenting system that could be used for illegal activity.
I don't think it would be an anonymous p2p network like tor. So if you were hosting illegal content you would get in trouble the same way having a dedicated child porn site would. It would be like torrents, they are peer to peer but they are not anonymous.
