Uh, no. A few people thought that and tried to hype it as such, but what I remember was the vast majority of us thinking it was a stupid niche "solution" to a non problem. The range of existing vehicles, including bicycles and mobility scooters and motorized skateboards, already addressed basically all of the uses a Segway could be applied to and it was nothing more than a gimmicky application of interesting technology. The idea that it was going to revolutionize anything at all was a pipe dream held by people enamored of the technology and laughed off by everyone else.
