Neurologists Say Medical Cannabis Effective in Treating MS - National Pain Report
The American Academy of Neurology, a medical organization in the U.S. representing over 27,000 neurologists, recently endorsed the use of medical cannabis. In new guidelines published in the journal Neurology, the Academy said oral cannabis, medical cannabis pills and cannabis spray may help ease symptoms of muscle spasticity and frequent urination caused by multiple sclerosis (MS). Muscle spasticity is a common symptom of MS causing involuntary spasms, immobility, disturbed sleep and pain.
