    I always feel like the Crash Course stuff barely even scratches the surface of the subject, even considering that it is meant to be a "crash course." But I can appreciate that it's generating an interest in astronomy among people whom normally wouldn't give any thought to the subject.

      I can see where you are coming from. It's meant to be a quick breakdown on subjects. I'd imagine a full breakdown on every topic would some long videos and get quite boring. I think your last point hits the nail on the head. People have short attention spans and if they see a video with a full breakdown on a topic in 13 minutes, they might take a look.
