I'm often surprised by how little people know of Terry Fox, considering every kid here in Canada grows up hearing about him all the time. Once a year, many cities and schools here will hold a "Terry Fox Run" in his honour to support cancer research. I guess I just never thought about it in the past and it makes sense since there's probably many similar great people from other countries that I have no idea about. It always just seemed like such a great story to me that I was amazed more people hadn't heard of it I guess.
